Trinity of Blood is Complete!

This was a beast of a project, but it really served to 1. Challenge me creatively (expanding on an old anthology story at BOTH ends… over three different time periods… and releasing it in installments on my website…) and 2. Gave me space to focus on an entirely different universe for a while (which helped me rediscover my love of writing with less expectations).

I still don’t know when the Trinity audiobook will be released (it largely depends on narrator schedules), but it’s officially in production and we did finalize the narrators:

(Because you KNOW I would be happy to continue nerding out about my neurodivergent special interest of art heists.

Himbos Comic and Herculeia Translations

The Not All Himbos Wear Capes comic from Talescape is moving along, and it’s now looking like SEPTEMBER for part 1 (of 3) to release (which works out better for me anyway with Heist releasing in August).

I’ve also seen THE COVER ART, but have been sworn to secrecy for now, even from my paid patrons. Rude, I know.

Of course, I will keep everyone posted as I know more about the release dates, Patreon sales, and special editions (with potential merch?).

Just a note that I am now dealing directly with Talescape for all the things (and yes, I will try my best to get the rest of the series produced as well). I have a meeting with them in July to plan ALL THE THINGS!

The Herculeia Italian translations through Ink Literary are also moving along (and are something I set up myself from the start) for RARE Florence in October, and I just unveiled the covers on Patreon and my Beventi preorder form!

P.S. My patrons already know, but I am also cooking up a BRAND NEW third-party special edition for RARE Florence (and possibly Amsterdam) and YES, patrons will get a chance at a reprint sale. I’ll share more once the contract is signed…

Special Editions (etc) Galore!

Just resharing this graphic to brag that – against all odds – I have stayed on “schedule” (again, it’s all loose and subject to change and chaos) for special edition sales:

  • January (CLOSED): Yaga’s Riders PUBLIC sale (and all public and patron have been long since shipped)
  • February (CLOSED): Mahogany Mail Villains in Space reprint and continuation sale (and I believe everyone should have received theirs by now..).
  • March – April (CLOSED): Renegade Romance Herculeia reprint sale. This was expanded to include FREE followers on Patreon in the 11th hour to get numbers up a bit (I may need to do the same for Trinity of Blood – but free followers will NOT be offered the tarot cards + overlay). I actually can’t remember when these are scheduled to ship, because I have one brain cell rattling around at this point.

*I know this could be seen as arbitrary, but I’m a ho for symmetry. So word count wise, I’m trying to keep it roughly the same as Villainous All the Way. Yes, if we leave out Date with Death, that’s one less story, but to put it in perspective, Synesthesia (the Luca + Erich novella in VATW) was around 25k words, while Filling Holes is already 25k (with a handful of chapters to go). And because I plan on designing the cover to match VATW, I want it to be as similar as possible. So there.

But first…

Now the big question:

Why is the Villainous Things Special Edition Reprint Not Until 2027?

Because of other projects [gestures above and below and all around], a lack of help (Uodate: While I’ve started daring to hire contractors again, I’m doing a LOT of admin and marketing myself on any given day), and personal challenges (plus the absolute dumpster fire happening in the U.S.).

I also want to point out that I never promised another reprint sale this year. The graphic on my original publishing “plan” post just said “Late fall? Possible VT Reprint Sale” and I’ve since been pretty vocal (including on the Special Edition FAQ page of my website) that it wasn’t looking likely for it to happen this year because of other projects (keep reading). I’m just a chaotic alien baby, after all!

And what would those other projects be?

Well, with the TWO new bonus content collections releasing in the next few months (see above), that would mean I could add them to the Villainous special edition reprint sale (meaning, those of you who already have the 6 books from before can just add on to your collection). Update: I’ve already dragged Lem into the cover creation for the Tab** collection…

But FIRST, I want to host that Villainous Things trading cards reprint (and EXPANSION) sale (see the original 8 cards HERE, just the art itself as prints in my store HERE, and the expansion discussion HERE). Lem and I have already decided on who will be included in the expansion (and I don’t * think * I’ve shared that yet… at least, outside of a Live) – any guesses?

And since the trading cards were originally a book box goodie (for Rabble: End Game), I thought, why not offer the chibi keychains (with art by Fae Quinn) up for a reprint… possibly along with an add-on of Ziggy and Micah (since I already have the art!)? In this case, I would ONLY be offering the full set of all 6 keychains or JUST Micah & Ziggy (otherwise, I just know I’ll mess something up). If people end up with doubles, gift it to a friend.

Aaaand then I realized I’m also sitting on a full set of Halloween art from Biggsboi (see them as art prints in my store HERE) that are PERFECT for standees (see what I mean HERE). And since the company who makes the standees (Vograce) happen to be who made my keychains, that could really cut down on shipping for me to order them together…

So yeah, I’m sure some would prefer I just do another VT SE reprint sale already, but let’s do something fun and whimsical first!

Looking Ahead (for Villainous & Beyond)

In short, I DO still plan on doing more in this universe (even if I needed a break for my mental health after the low turnout for Villains in Space).

First we’ll get the two bonus content collections (with Filling Holes FINALLY done!), followed by the Villainous Miscellaneous Sale and the SE reprint sale, and then I can start thinking about dipping a toe back in with that long-awaited (maybe?) “Supe Academy” series.

Update: I feel compelled to add that the Muse is gonna Muse, and we also need to see how Heist does (and if the people are clamoring for more in that world). In the end, this is my job/livelihood, and I also need to go where the money is (aka, where/what the readers show me they want to read).

BUT, before supes (and Heist 2) come a couple quick (I PROMISE) group projects! I can’t say too much about them just yet (although I did spill more with my paid patrons…), but I will hint that one is allowing me to dip back into not only Maine cryptid lore but a sapphic pairing. Stay tuned for more!

Romance Bookstore Day at Grump & Sunshine: This is actually a TWO-day extravaganza and I (and Matt!) will be there on Friday, August 14th, where a local drag queen named Gigi will be reading excerpts from our books (yes, I will perish 💀). It also happens to be the UK anniversary of Rocky Horror Picture Show, so MY excerpt will be a certain scene from Himbos…

And local mobile romance bookstore Novella is hosting a small “Falling for You” romance event at a local apple orchard on September 26th that I’ll be signing at (along with Nyla!).

Not much has changed (with me or with some in the online community scaring authors away – THANK YOU to those calling others in to do better!) except that now it’s just little ol’ me again, raw doggin’ my daily operations – so extra patience is appreciated!
