Putting Out for a Hero: Content, Tropes, Kinks & Triggers

(MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)

Scroll down for the other books in the series & please do not hesitate to email C. directly with any questions or suggestions for adding to the TWs.

Content, Tropes & Kinks:

• Superheroes/villains (and the “normies” who love them)

• MM romance (love is love)

• Dual POV

• Two households both alike in villainy

Knives Out, old money vibes

• Single dad + his badass little queen

• Forced proximity + fated mates

• Hurt/comfort + found family

• Deathball (a made up sport that is more discussed than actually played on page because we’re here for the smut, thank you very much)

• Former sports rivals-to-lovers who talk a lot of shit as a love language

• A very confused bi- (possibly Pan-) awakening meets “I’ve always been bi for you”/“I even pretended the woman I was with before was you” (it’s complicated)

• Absolutely filthy dirty talk

• A himbo “I’m baby” golden retriever villain who must be protected at all costs

• A psychotic Godzilla hero who acts even more animalistic than usual

• An actual monster peen with fun ridges (like a “rocket popsicle”) and a knot (HELLO, BREEDING KINK)

• Giant lizard man fetish (Baltasar)

• Jockstrap fetish (the author, let’s be real)

• Lubricating lizard saliva (we made it easy this time)

• Purposeful size difference with preferred top & bottom roles (they like what they like)

• Consensual moments of predator and prey, along with a primal chase scene through the woods where someone acts like they’re John James Rambo just to get the upper hand (and that lizard dick)

• Biting for mating purposes (plus, Balty enjoys pain from fangs and claws)

• Territorial cum play & lizards licking their mates clean

• A sexy but unwise use of grip tape

• Major praise kink with a smidge of humiliation

• Light feminization (mostly involving a grown-ass man in a “pretty princess” tutu, along with the use of the “c” word that isn’t “cock”)

• One MC getting big mad that he smells like cookies (if this was an OV, Balty would be an omega)

• A dude-oir photoshoot, eggplant parm, and a butt plug used as bait to coax out some full-sized lizard dick (in the bonus epilogue)

• All the stretching, blow jobs, rim jobs, frotting, and dicks in asses because this is an MM romance

Possible triggers (please also check content list):

• Sweary dialogue

• Naughty, medium-dark humor

• Cutesy pet names (with light feminization – see above)

• Excessive gift giving as a love language (it’s a Suarez thing, I’m afraid)

• Bad puns on T-shirts

• Single dad with important child character (9-years-old and sassy AF)

• Questionable parenting (the guys are trying their best)

• Using religious phrases in an overtly sexual and/or casual context (oh, my God/Jesus Christ)

• Morally gray characters

• Angst, miscommunication, and a fist fight between the MCs, because these are two idiots in love

• Grief over the loss of a partner from cancer (no on-page details)

• Family betrayal (from Zion’s parents) and trauma/loss of body autonomy through physical abuse (for both) – mostly in the past with only vague, on-page details

• Self-worth issues related to intelligence and “usefulness” within one’s family

• Neurodiverse MC (undiagnosed ADHD with high anxiety)

• Public humiliation (not between the MCs)

• Truly meddling siblings and a group chat that thrives on ball busting and a complete lack of boundaries or filter

• A mouthy opinionated brother who prefers cock and is very vocal about how much he personally prefers cock as his personal preference

• Potentially triggering misogynistic behavior/language, including men who enjoy going to strip clubs and casually use the words “titty bar,” “tatas” (also used in reference to Zion’s impressive pecs), “chick,” “bitch” (reserved for meddling family members), and “whore/slut/pretty princess” (these are reserved for Baltasar)

• One MC checking out the other while they’re unconscious and naked without explicit consent

• Cheating? (NOT between the MCs). Baltasar is engaged to Dahlia—Zion’s sister—when the book begins. It’s a business contract and neither wants it. There’s never any contact between them, but Balty IS technically engaged when he starts things up with Zion.

• Brief threat of OW (other woman) drama. There’s a single scene in a strip club where Zion teams up with one of the dancers to make Balty mad. Nothing major happens, but a hetero-presenting finger momentarily touches a bisexual cock (brace yourselves)

• So much jealousy and possessiveness (related to above, and then some, and usually not logical)

• Gunfire with a child nearby (she does NOT get hit)

• A loved one trapped inside a burning building (all’s well in the end, I promise)

• Classist themes (between powerful supes and “lesser” supes)

• A very tense scene between two alphahole clan heirs where our sweet bb himbo is (temporarily) used as leverage

• In general, clan heirs acting like invincible assholes who believe they are above all the rules (I see you, Zion and Wolfgang)

• Mentions, not details, of gore (on par with the rest of the series), including the aftermath of torture on a deserving enemy where they lost their spying eyeballs.

• A cutthroat, dubious moral code for supes that isn’t meant to be understood by normies. “It’s how the game is played.” (Please scroll way down for a note on supe identities)

The Villainous Things series contains standalone books (each with HEAs) that feature interconnected characters and an overarching plot. You need to read them in order:

Please consider leaving reviews when you’re done – thank you!

And YES… the author is already working on multiple spin-offs!
Like “Villains in Space” (a now complete trilogy that includes Earth Boys Are Easy – which comes BEFORE Rabble: End Game) and a soon-to-be-announced “Academy” series… stay tuned…
